TV Promos: Mandalorian, Spy Racers, Calm

Disney+ has released a 17-minute featurette about the Razor Crest, the ship belonging to Pedro Pascal’s titular character in their live-action “Star Wars” series “The Mandalorian”.

A lot of work went into the design of the bounty hunter’s vehicle and the designers took a lot of inspiration from old-school “Star Wars” filmmaking. Using the Air Force plan known as the A-10 Warthog as a basis, they combined WWII aesthetics with “Star Wars” tech to indicate this ship design might pre-date the X-Wings.

They also looked at “airport graveyards” to give it a more shoddy appearance to make it appear as if it had been long in use but remained “intimidating and very strong”. “The Mandalorian” will return to Disney+ for its second season on October 30th.

That’s not all today as Universal and DreamWorks Animation have released the first trailer for the second season of Netflix Original animated kids series “Fast & Furious: Spy Racers” which finds the team heading to Rio de Janeiro. The new episodes kick off October 9th.

Teenager Tony Toretto (Tyler Posey) and his crew embark on their first international mission to Brazil. Once in Rio, they discover that Ms. Nowhere’s latest recruit and formidable fellow racer, Layla Gray (Camille Ramsey), is missing in action during an undercover mission. Unwilling to leave family behind, they don secret identities to find her and uncover a sinister plot that keeps them guessing at every turn.

Finally HBO Max has released the official trailer for the “A World of Calm,” a unique series developed by the streamer in partnership with the Calm app and featuring narration from the likes of Mahershala Ali, Priyanka Chopra Jonas, Idris Elba, Oscar Isaac, Nicole Kidman, Zoe Kravitz, Lucy Liu, Cillian Murphy, Keanu Reeves, and Kate Winslet.

Each half-hour episode takes audiences on an immersive visual journey into another world, each relaxing tale is designed to transform how you feel – offering tranquility through scientifically-engineered narratives, enchanting music, and astounding footage, to naturally calm your body and soothe the mind. The series launches Thursday October 1st.
