Kerry Katona’s daughter Heidi returned to The Voice Kids tonight for the battle rounds – singing Shakira’s Whenever, Wherever alongside competitors Rachel and Dara.
But, despite an amazing performance, Heidi and Rachel bowed out of the competition as their mentor, Changes singer Paloma Faith, opted to take Dara through to the semi-final.
Truthfully, all three were brilliant.
Kerry was seen cheering Heidi on from the audience, and later hugging her ‘baby girl’ as she left the stage.
For her audition performance, Heidi sang Macy Gray’s I Try.
Addressing Heidi’s exit on Instagram, Kerry said: ‘Sooo super proud of all three of these brave, amazing, talented young people!
‘What an amazing time heidi and I had filming @thevoicekidsuk and wishing every single one of you the best of luck in the future!’
Last week, former Atomic Kitten star Kerry confessed she almost pulled Heidi from her audition.
Kerry and Heidi appeared on Loose Women, with Heidi saying: ‘It was really exciting but I was really nervous to do it because I have separation anxiety with my mum and just general anxiety I was feeling that day I guess.’
Kerry continued: ‘It was when we were backstage, she was really excited about the whole day.
‘Then they came up and were like, “Right Heidi, it’s your turn now”.
‘And she just burst into tears and I went “Agh!” I was like, “Heidi, if it’s going to upset you this much let’s go home baby girl”.
‘The next thing I know I’m standing next to Emma and she walks out and her nose is red and her eyes are red.’
What an experience she’s probably had though.
The Voice Kids UK returns to ITV1 next Saturday August 22 2020 at 7.25pm.
