The first photos from the set of the “Uncharted” film are out offering a first look at Tom Holland as Nathan Drake and Mark Wahlberg as Sully, though you wouldn’t know it looking at them.
The film will follow the early days of globe-trotting adventurer Nathan Drake (Holland) and his frequent traveling companion Victor ‘Sully’ Sullivan (Mark Wahlberg) a good decade or so before the events of the games.
The shots of the pair in tuxedos entering a potential party feel like a nod of the head towards the fourth game in which the pair do the same to infiltrate a black market auction. The project, which stalled due to the coronavirus pandemic, resumed filming in Berlin almost two months ago with Holland discussing the shoot the other day saying it is all proceeding smoothly.
Antonio Banderas plays the film villain, the actor temporarily left the production last month after testing positive for COVID-19. Three weeks later he indicated he had recovered and would return to work ASAP.
For now, Sony Pictures has the film on track for a July 16th 2021 opening.
