Saoirse Ronan has been set as the lead in the alcoholism memoir “The Outrun” by writer Amy Liptrot. In addition, Nora Fingscheidt (“The Unforgivable”) is set to direct.
Ronan plays the recently-out-of-rehab Rona who heads for a home she left a decade ago in Scotland’s Orkney Islands.
There she reconnects with the dramatic landscape where she grew up and begins to piece together her childhood, memories of which merge with more recent challenging events that have set her on the path to recovery.
Fingscheidt and Liptrot co-wrote the adaptation. Ronan, Jack Lowden, Dominic Norris, Ignacio Salazar-Simpson, Ricardo Marco, Jonas Weydemann and Jakob D. Weydemann will produce.
