TRON: Legacy
Mondo has released the official artwork and details for the tenth anniversary re-release of Daft Punk’s soundtrack score for “TRON: Legacy,” one which features new artwork by Matt Taylor.
This is described as a direct repressing of what was released on the original vinyl album, which featured a full collection of bonus tracks. The new vinyl will cost $35, and it goes on sale at 12pm US-CT this Wednesday ahead of shipping in November. [Source: Slashfilm]
2020 Cannes Film Festival
The Palais des Festivals has announced they will host a ‘Special Cannes’ event running October 27th-29th featuring four films from this year’s Official Selection for the cancelled Cannes Film Festival. The event will include in-competition short films and the Cinefondation’s school film, and all of it will be open to the public.
The four films to scree are Emmanuel Courcol’s “Un triomphe” (The Big Hit), Bruno Podalydes’s “Les Deux Alfred” (The French Tech), Naomi Kawase’s “Asa Ga Kuru” (True Mothers), and Georgian director Dea Kulumbegashvili’s “Beginning”. [Source: Screen]
Arrow Video
Acclaimed British indie film distributor Arrow Video will launch a new SVOD service in North America from October 1st – the collection boasting a curated selection of cult classics, hidden gems, and iconic horror films. Arrow Video is offering fans a 30 day free trial and subscriptions are available for $4.99 per month or $49.99 annually. A UK rollout is planned for 2021. [Source: Arrow]
The Jealousy Man
Amazon Studios and Makeready (“Queen & Slim”) are teaming to develop a film adaptation of Norwegian crime author Jo Nesbo’s “The Jealousy Man”. William Oldroyd has been tapped to direct the adaptation.
Roberto Bentivegna (“Gucci”)is adapting the script which is set on a remote Greek island. The story follows twin brothers caught in a violent love triangle, and the detective, known as The Jealousy Man, is called in to investigate. [Source: Deadline]
I’ve Got Your Number
Amazon Studios and Echo Lake Entertainment are set to adapt Sophie Kinsella’s best-selling novel “I’ve Got Your Number”. Kirsten ‘Kiwi’ Smith and Jessica O’Toole are attached to pen the adaption. Dakota Fanning, Brittany Kahan Ward, Mary Jane Skalski, Joey Plager and Freddie Highmore will produce.
The novel is a romantic comedy of errors featuring a lost engagement ring, a stolen cell phone, and two strangers who find each other… just as one of them is about to marry someone else. [Source: Deadline]
