Paramount+ Sets Major European Plans

Paramount is betting big on the European market as the company outlined its international distribution and SVOD strategy in France this week as part of the Series Mania festival.

By the end of 2022, both Paramount+ and SkyShowtime (a joint venture between Paramount & Comcast) will be in more than sixty markets in Europe. Paramount+ also intends to expand into South Korea later this year and in other Asian markets as well as Africa and West Asia in 2023.

The company is still on track to follow their plan of launching fifty Paramount+ non-U.S. scripted originals in 2022 which range from a “Sexy Beast” prequel series to “NCIS Sydney”.

They’ve also just struck a deal with French studio powerhouse Gaumont (“Lupin,” “Stillwater,” “Narcos”) with a number of titles announced as part of the three-year partnership – the first being an adaptation of Maxime Chattam’s horror-thriller novel “The Signal”.
