DIsney+ will be releasing the second season of “The Mandalorian” next month, but you can already bet early work is underway on the third season.
This week, speaking with People, actor Giancarlo Esposito suggests they’ve planned far enough ahead that what we’ll see this year will pale compared to some of the stuff coming not just in a third season but a potential fourth too.
The actor, who portrays Moff Gideon in the series, also seems to indicate his character, or at least his legacy should he meet a demise this year, will play a part in the action beyond the upcoming season:
“We’re living in a universe that is huge and there’s so much to explore. So I think this show is going to lay the groundwork for the depth and breadth that’s gonna come in Season 3 and Season 4, where you’re really gonna start to get answers.”
One of the most criticised aspects of Disney’s recent trilogy of films has been the lack of an overall plan for the films, Abrams and Johnson essentially making things up as they went along. That does not sound like the case here.
