Kerry Katona breaks down in tears on Celebrity Trash Monsters: What’s Your Waste Size?, discussing how she will impart the things she has learned to her own children.
The singer, 41, is seen getting emotional in metro.co.uk’s exclusive clip, as he talks about her children, Molly, 20, Lilly-Sue, 18, Heidi, 14, Max, 13, and DJ, seven.
Speaking to Jon Richardson about her journey over the past few years, she hopes to impart everything she has learned, including how to improve her family’s unsustainable consumer habits, to her kids and future grandkids.
She says: ‘I am on a journey, me Jon. I’ve been on this journey for…I’m gonna get upset now…I’ve been on a journey for a couple of years now.
‘And I just want to better myself, not just for me but for my kids as well, and I think this is really important.’
Jon is seen telling her: ‘If you’ve got to a point where finally you’re happy enough, you don’t need to feel guilty about anything that’s happened before. And your kids are amazing…’
Kerry joked: ‘Do you want them?’, as Jon continued: ‘They’re beautiful, healthy, polite. So whatever you’ve done, you should feel incredibly proud of.’
With Jon’s high praise of her parenting, Kerry was left on the edge of tears, replying: ‘Oh don’t you’re gonna make me cry.
‘I think the best way for me to teach my children is to show them the impact and that that is going to be their kids.’
The show will see Kerry, John Barnes and Jodie Kidd work to reduce the amount of waste they produce and cut down their household’s carbon footprint.
For two weeks, the celebs live their normal lives both at home and at work whilst wearing specially designed trash suits, which get ever-fuller as more rubbish is added, allowing them to truly feel the weight of every bit of rubbish their family consumes and throws away.
Celebrity Trash Monsters: What’s Your Waste Size? airs on Sunday at 9pm on Channel 4.
