John McGinn has put pen-to-paper on a contract extension with Aston Villa that will keep him at the club until 2025.
The Scotsman first joined Aston Villa in August 2018 from Hibernian when the side were in the Championship.
He made 40 appearances for the Villans in 2018/19 as they were promoted back up to the Premier League.

McGinn also played a key part last season in the top flight, as he made 30 appearances in all competitions. Along with Jack Grealish, McGinn has been one of their most consistent performers in recent years.
Villa have made a strong start to the new season. McGinn continues to play a vital role in their midfield as he has made nine appearances so far this term.
McGinn reacted to the news of his contract extension with VillaTV, which has been cited by Sky Sports:
“I have got a good relationship with everyone here, I think everyone is aware of that.
“We have been talking for a while now and it was an easy conversation, just one that had been parked because we had a lot of games, and a lot of international games.
“With the Newcastle game getting cancelled, it was the perfect time to get it agreed and I am over the moon.
“The fans want people giving 100 per cent every game and I feel I can bring that.
“We are waiting to have a full Villa Park again.
“I have got another four-and-a-half years now but hopefully it will be sooner rather than later!”
So with The Manchester Derby, Arteta on the edge, Chelsea making a charge at it and Mino Raiola more famous than most Kings…it sounds like a Big Weekend to us.
