Feige On “Loki,” “Avengers 5,” “Deadpool 3”

Marvel & 20th Century Studios

Out doing early promotional interviews for the upcoming “Shang-Chi” movie, Marvel Studios’ Kevin Feige has offered some brief updates on where some other projects in the early stages at Marvel Studios currently stand.

First up, “Loki”. The only one of the company’s new MCU-connected live-action shows so far to have been confirmed for a second season, there’s an obvious question as to when it will begin shooting.

Speaking with Collider, Feige says development is underway with the hope of retaining much of the same team that made the first season bar director Kate Herron who has already moved on.

A director search will begin shortly, however he doesn’t expect production to begin until well into 2022 if not 2023 which suggests we won’t see it for a few years. The outlet also asked when a fifth “Avengers” might happen to which he says:

“I think we want there to be a reasonable amount of time from [‘Avengers: Endgame’] to start a new saga, which is already underway and already started. And then you need time, as you did in Phase One, to build that saga before you start bringing everyone together.”

In other words, don’t expect another one of those films for a good few years yet. Finally, he tells ComicBook.com that they have a release window tentatively set for a third “Deadpool” and: “the script is in the works and Ryan is working very hard on it with our writers as we speak.” When that window might be is not clear.

The comments come several weeks ahead of the launch of “Shang-Chi” which has begun ramping up its marketing with clips and promo spots going online. Marvel also released the trailer for “Eternals” last week, with the official release of the first trailer for “Spider-Man: No Way Home” expected in coming weeks.
