de Armas, Evans Re-Team On “Ghosted”

Lionsgate

“Knives Out” duo Ana de Armas and Chris Evans are set to re-team for the romantic action-adventure feature “Ghosted” for Apple Original Films and Skydance.

de Armas, who stole the show in the recent Bond film “No Time to Die” despite only being on screen for a few minutes, steps into a role that Scarlett Johansson was previously attached to.

Johansson, who regularly worked with Evans on the Marvel Studios films, amicably exited the picture due to a scheduling conflict as production was shifted to begin filming by February.

This will mark Evans’ third teaming with de Armas, the pair also co-starred in Netflix’s already shot mega-budget assassins thriller “The Gray Man” from directors Joe & Anthony Russo.

Dexter Fletcher (“Rocketman”) is helming the project from a script by writer/producers Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick (“Deadpool”). Evans will serve as producer and de Armas as an executive producer.

de Armas has both the Marilyn Monroe biopic “Blonde” and the thriller “Deep Water” on the way and recently was in talks to lead the “John Wick” spin-off “Ballerina”.

The movie adds to Apple’s quickly swelling ranks of impressive film output with already released “CODA” and “Finch,” the soon to release “Swan Song” and “The Tragedy of Macbeth,” and major upcoming films like Martin Scorsese’s “Killers of the Flower Moon,” Antoine Fuqua’s “Emancipation” and Ridley Scott’s “Kitbag”.
