Chris Pratt and Chris Hemsworth have begun filming for Thor: Love And Thunder as the first images of them on set have emerged.
Hemsworth, 37, who plays Thor in the Marvel series, was seen on set in jeans, a white vest and a red and black sleeveless jacket, showing a rather dressed down look for the character.
Thor’s signature flowing blonde locks were of course back as the actor got wigged up to play the character once more.
Pratt, 41, meanwhile was seen in the Star-Lord’s classic get-up as the two Chris-es chatted and joked together between takes in Sydney’s Centennial Park.
The pair had been seen catching up last week as the cast met up at Sydney’s Crown hotel complex after Pratt had completed his 14-day quarantine after flying in from the USA.
The actors and director Taika Waititi were seen laughing and hugging as they enjoyed a night out together before shooting began on the new movie.
Production seems to be well under way this week, with swarms of crew members seen on set as well as a host of actors in costume, including Hemsworth’s stunt double.
In order to maintain a Covid-safe set amid the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, anyone who wasn’t appearing on camera was seen wearing a mask, and many had a visor on as well.
The film, which also stars Natalie Portman and Tessa Thompson, is mainly being shot in Sydney’s Fox Studios, with outdoor shots taking place in Centennial Park, where Sean Gunn was also seen wearing a purple spacesuit for his shots.
Elaborate sets have been constructed for the film in the city, including piles of dirt and rocks to transform the landscape.
The upcoming instalment of Thor will see Natalie return as Jane Foster, who will also become the Goddess of Thunder, after appearing in the first two Thor films but being absent for 2017’s Thor: Ragnarok.
Thor: Love And Thunder is slated for release in May 2022.
