Bryan Fuller Adapts King’s “Christine”

“Hannibal,” “American Gods” and “Star Trek: Discovery” creator Bryan Fuller is attached to make his feature directorial debut on a new film adaptation of Stephen King’s “Christine” at Blumhouse Productions and Sony Pictures.

John Carpenter helmed the previous 1983 film adaptation of the early King book about a shy teenager who comes out of his shell after he buys a 1958 Plymouth Fury to fix up.

The car however has a mind of its own, as well as a murderous past, and begins to change the young man and everyone around him in a dangerous fashion.

Fuller reportedly plans to keep the 1980s time period setting of the original story. He’s also writing the script for the film which Vincenzo Natali and Steven Hoban will produce. The project is reportedly still in its early stages.
