Arsenal left-back Kieran Tierney is set to miss this weekend’s trip to Aston Villa.
The Scotsman came through the ranks with Celtic and he made over 100 senior appearances for them between 2015 and 2019.
By then, teams around Europe were chasing his signature. But Arsenal beat rivals to the signing as he moved to the Premier League for around £25m in August 2019.

Tierney missed the start of the season through injury. Yet he finished the campaign as one of the Gunners’ best performers once he returned to fitness.
He has continued that great form into this season with him making 23 appearances already this term.
But the full-back has missed Arsenal’s last three games through injury. They had hoped that he would be available this weekend, but the club have confirmed that he is still unavailable for selection:
“Kieran is continuing to be assessed for discomfort in the right lower leg and is unavailable for Saturday’s match.”
In the same statement, Arsenal revealed that Pablo Mari and new signing Mat Ryan are both available to play. Bernd Leno and David Luiz are serving one-match suspensions after being sent off last time out against Wolves.
This means that Ryan is in line for his Gunners debut after he signed on loan from Brighton in January.
