After prolonged negotiations, acting veteran Sam Waterston has closed a deal to reprise his iconic role of Jack McCoy in NBC’s “Law and Order” revival.
The revival is dubbed a continuation of the series and thus is seen as the show’s twenty-first season. Waterston first joined the series back in season five and remained with it up until its end in 2010.
Waterston joins Anthony Anderson as actors set to return and reprise their roles, the pair joined by three familiar faces who are new to this franchise – Hugh Dancy (“Hannibal”), Jeffrey Donovan (“Burn Notice”) and Camryn Manheim (“The Practice”).
Dick Wolf executive produces the Universal TV series alongside showrunner Rick Eid, Arthur W. Forney and Peter Jankowski. The series returns on Thursday, February 24th.
