Bruno Fernandes couldn’t hide his emotions when celebrating Marcus Rashford’s late winner for Manchester United against Wolves.
Needing a win to keep pace with leaders Liverpool, United had been frustrated by some stubborn Wolves defending. As the match entered injury time, a goalless draw seemed the most likely result.
With time slipping away, Fernandes swept a crossfield pass towards Rashford. With the aid of a deflection, the England striker scored the game’s only goal with minutes remaining.
Fernandes spun round and pumped his fists in celebration before rushing into the arms of Luke Shaw. Just give him the armband already.
United will enter 2021 in second place and with growing hopes of a first Premier League title since Sir Alex Ferguson retired in 2013.
