The release calendar just keeps a changing with Warner Bros. Pictures, having pushed “Dune” back ten months, now further reorganising its release slate.
First up, Matt Reeves’ “The Batman” has been pushed back five months from October 1st 2021 to March 4th 2022. When “Dune” moved to the October 2021 slot, “The Batman” delay was inevitable but that it happened this fast is a surprise.
That’s not all though. “The Flash” film has been delayed five months to November 4th 2022, “Shazam! 2” has been delayed seven months to June 2nd 2023, and the Dwayne Johnson-led “Black Adam” has been pulled from the schedule altogether after originally staking out a December 22nd 2021 date.
A film adaptation of the “Minecraft” franchise, originally set for March 4th 2022, has also been pulled from the release schedule.
One bit of good news? Lana Wachowski’s “The Matrix 4” has been moved up by four months. Originally slated for April 2022, it will now open Christmas next year. The project resumed filming in Germany a few months back and by all reports has been going smoothly so far.
