Willow
In January this year, the planned “Willow” sequel series in the works for the Disney+ service lost its pilot director, Jon M. Chu (“Crazy Rich Asians”), over scheduling issues. Very quickly director Jonathan Entwistle (“The End of the F—ing World”) stepped in to take over.
Today its been revealed that Entwistle left just three months later due to his commitment to shoot his Apple TV+ series “Hello Tomorrow”. Now its been revealed “Outlander” director Stephen Woolfenden has replaced Entwistle and has already finished filming the first two episodes. [Source: Deadline]
The Antagonists
Braham Entertainment has acquired TV adaptation rights to Tyler F. Martin’s “The Antagonists” comic series which follow married supervillains Desructus and Ultima as they settle into retirement after successfully taking over the world.
Wanted and pursued by governments, the couple struggles to keep their worst impulses in check while balancing married life, parental responsibilities, being Black in America, and hiding their past and former identities from their superpowered children. [Source: Deadline]
Fantasy Island
An informal “Melrose Place” reunion will take place this summer on FOX’s “Fantasy Island” reboot which premieres August 10th. Laura Leighton, Josie Bissett and Daphne Zuniga guest star in an episode later in the season as friends whose island birthday bash exposes the cracks in their friendships. [Source: Variety]
The Immortal
HBO Max has released the official trailer for “The Immortal,” the combination prequel and sequel movie to the Italian crime drama series “Gomorrah”. This will explore the early life of lead character Ciro Di Marzio (Marco D’Amore). D’Amore co-wrote and directs the film which will be released on July 29th exclusively on HBO Max.
