Train passenger attacked with knuckleduster after asking two men to wear masks

A train passenger was beaten with a knuckleduster and left needing hospital treatment for his injuries after asking two men on board to wear face masks.

The 52-year-old victim was kicked as he stepped off the train at Barnes station, in southwest London, before being attacked with the weapon on the platform shortly before 12.30pm on November 7.

He was later taken to hospital where he was treated for several broken ribs and a punctured lung.

British Transport Police said the man had asked two fellow passengers to cover their faces shortly before the incident. Face coverings are mandatory on public transport unless you are exempt.

They have released CCTV images of two men who ‘may have information which could help their investigation’.
