Hubie Halloween
Netflix has premiered a new Halloween-themed trailer and poster for Adam Sandler’s family comedy-mystery “Hubie Halloween”.
Set in Salem, Sandler plays a rule following resident who is on high alert over a mysterious new neighbor who showed up about the same time an infamous criminal escaped and people nearby started disappearing.
Kevin James, Kenan Thompson, Julie Bowen, Ray Liotta, Noah Schnapp, Steve Buscemi, and Maya Rudolph co-star in the Steven Brill-directed film which hits the streamer on October 7th.
His House
Following raves from Sundance, Netflix has unveiled the first trailer for Remi Weekes’ British thriller “His House” which hits the streamer on October 30th. After making a harrowing escape from war-torn South Sudan, a young refugee couple struggle to adjust to their new life in a small English town that has an unspeakable evil lurking beneath the surface. Sope Dirisu, Wunmi Mosaku, Matt Smith, Javier Botet and Cornell John star.
Belushi
Showtime has posted the trailer for its feature documentary “Belushi” from award-winning filmmaker R.J. Cutler. The project goes into the all too short a life of SNL star and comedy genius John Belushi of iconic films like “Animal House” and “The Blues Brothers”. However as his fame grew, so did his demons. “Belushi” will premiere on Sunday November 22nd.
Lupin III: The First
GKIDS has released the first English language trailer for Takashi Yamazaki’s “Lupin III: The First,” the CG animated film based on the famed Lupin the Third gentleman thief character. Here he races to uncover the secrets of the mysterious Bresson Diary, before it falls into the hands of a dark cabal that will stop at nothing to resurrect the Third Reich. The film will be available for digital streaming rental in December.
Holidate
Netflix has released the trailer for “Holidate,” a holiday themed rom-com starring Emma Roberts and Luke Bracey that hits the streamer on October 28th. Frances Fisher, Kristin Chenoweth, Andrew Bachelor, and Jessica Capshaw co-star in the John Whitesell-helmed film.
Roberts plays Sloane, an overworked and single woman who keeps getting ribbed by family and friends about finding a man. She happens upon a prime opportunity to stop nosy loved ones from hassling her when, after a lifetime of awkward dates, she meets Jackson (Bracey), a perpetually single dude who she convinces to be a platonic plus-one for all of her upcoming holiday-specific events.
Mogul Mowgli
The trailer is out for Bassam Tariq’s “Mogul Mowgli,” a new drama starring actor/rapper Riz Ahmed as a British-Pakistani rapper named Zed. On the cusp of a major tour and commercial success, he returns to England on a family visit only to be hospitalized with an autoimmune condition. The film arrived in UK cinemas on October 30th.
