A trio of Premier League clubs are keeping tabs on Dundee United’s teenage defender Kerr Smith, according to reports.
Smith made his debut for the Arabs last year at the age of 16, which initially attracted the interest of Leeds United.
However, Crystal Palace and Southampton are also interested in the teenager according to the Daily Record.
Clarke-Harris and Ferguson give Posh enough spice to stay up
The centre-back has featured seven times for United, including two appearances this term under new coach Thomas Courts.
Smith could be available for around £500k, which is a good price considering the teams scouting the 16-year-old.
United are also in talks to sell their talisman Lawrence Shankland.
Belgian side Beerschot have spoken to the Dundee club. Swansea City and Ipswich Town have also been linked with the Scotland international.
However, the Arabs will not let Shankland leave on the cheap, despite the player entering the final year of his contract.
Boasting an impressive scoring record wherever he has played, the 25-year-old has 40 goals in 74 matches for the Tannadice club.
New Swans boss Russell Martin was keen on him earlier in the window when he was at MK Dons but the club didn’t have the funds to make a sufficient offer.
Elsewhere, Scottish Professional Football League rivals Celtic have received a bid for Odsonne Edouard from Brighton and Hove Albion.
The France Under 21 international could cost the Seagulls up to £18million, and they are looking to tie up a deal for him ‘early next week’ after ‘finally’ making an offer says the Daily Mail.
Edouard joined the Hoops for £9m in 2017, and former club Paris Saint-Germain are reportedly due 40 per cent of any profit from his sale.
His contract expires next summer so Celtic will also be eager to offload the Frenchman this summer to ensure they don’t lose him for free.
Manager Ange Postecoglou has made it clear that he will allow unhappy players to leave the club this transfer window and will look to sign a replacement for Eduoard if he leaves the club.
Brighton registered an interest in the striker last month and were perhaps waiting for the sale of Ben White to Arsenal to officially lodge a bid.
They received a whopping £50m from White’s sale – so it could be a busy few weeks for the south coast club.
