Manchester United and Arsenal players feature among the 10 teenagers to have played the most minutes across Europe’s top five leagues.

As well as the two Premier League representatives, two players come from the Bundesliga, just one from La Liga, and an impressive five from Ligue 1.

Note: We’ve not included minutes played in cup or European competitions.

10. Joris Chotard (Montpellier) – 1251 minutes
Chotard was promoted to Montpellier’s first team ahead of the 2019-20 season and has become a key part of Michel Der Zakarian’s side.

The defensive midfielder had a promising debut season and is tipped for a bright future after making 20 Ligue 1 appearances.

9. Rayan Ait Nouri (Angers) – 1286 minutes
“For Rayan, I have rarely seen a boy with this talent, he is very ahead of the game,” Angers manager Stephane Moulin told RMC Sport in July 2020. “He was very well balanced and I think that he will find himself in a big club.”

The left-back was one of Angers’ standout performers in 2019-20 and has been linked with Manchester United and Manchester City.

8. Mason Greenwood (Manchester United) – 1311 minutes
You might have heard of this lad.

Greenwood is regarded as one the brightest young prospects in world football and has become one of the first names on United’s team sheet.

The forward scored 10 goals in 31 league appearances, becoming the first player since Michael Owen to score 10+ goals in a Premier League season aged 18 or under.

7. Noah Katterbach (Cologne) – 1318 minutes
Katterbach came through the Cologne academy and emerged as a first-team regular in 2019-20, making 18 Bundesliga appearances.

The left-back was linked with a move to Schalke but decided to sign a new long-term contract with Cologne in May 2020.

6. Bafode Diakite (Toulouse) – 1368 minutes
Diakite couldn’t prevent Toulouse’s relegation to Ligue 2, but the defender still earned plenty of plaudits for his performances in 2019-20.

5. Benoit Badiashile (Monaco) – 1413 minutes
Monaco has been the home of plenty of promising young talents in recent years and Badishile is the latest to impress.

The centre-back made 16 Ligue 1 appearances in 2019-20 and is reportedly attracting interest from Manchester United and Real Madrid.

4. Bukayo Saka (Arsenal) – 1753 minutes
Arsenal may have endured a difficult season in the Premier League, but one positive for the Gunners has been Saka’s emergence.

The 18-year-old made 26 Premier League appearances in several different positions and has become a brilliant playground footballer.

3. Eduardo Camavinga (Rennes) – 2113 minutes
Camavinga burst onto the scene with a stunning performance against PSG in August 2019, and he hasn’t looked back since.

The midfielder made 25 Ligue 1 appearances before the season was curtailed and helped Rennes secure Champions League qualification for next season.

He’s still only 17 FFS.

The 19-year-old registered three goals and four assists in 29 league appearances and won the Bundesliga Rookie of the Season award.

1. Takefusa Kubo (Mallorca) – 2308 minutes
The sole representative from La Liga, Kubo joined Mallorca on loan from Real Madrid in search of regular first-team football.

The Japan international has been an ever-present in 2019-20, providing four goals and five assists in 35 La Liga appearances.

After Mallorca’s relegation from the top flight, the right winger is set to spend the 2020-21 season on loan at Villarreal.
