Netflix has announced “Tekken: Bloodline,” a new anime series based on the popular 3D fighting game franchise that will launch sometime later this year. In addition, a trailer has been released.
In the series, Jin Kazama learned the family self-defense arts, Kazama-Style Traditional Martial Arts, from his mother at an early age. Even so, he was powerless when a monstrous evil suddenly appeared, destroying everything dear to him, changing his life forever.
Angry at himself for being unable to stop it, Jin vowed revenge and sought absolute power to exact it. His quest will lead to the ultimate battle on a global stage – The King of Iron Fist Tournament.
The “Tekken” games debuted in 1994 and remain one of the most popular fighting games in the world. The series has already been adapted into a live-action movie, a CG-animated movie, a two-part OVA anime series and more.
This marks the third animated Netflix series adaptation of a video game franchise, the first being the acclaimed “Castlevania” series and the second being last year’s multiple award-winning “Arcane” series based on the “League of Legends” franchise.
