Teaser Trailer: Frances McDormand In “Nomadland”

Searchlight Pictures has released the trailer for “Nomadland,” the new indie road film that acclaimed “The Rider” filmmaker Chloe Zhao shot and will see release ahead of her “Marvel’s Eternals” feature next year.

The film follows the economic collapse of a company town in rural Nevada as Fern (Frances McDormand) packs her van and sets off on the road exploring a life outside of conventional society as a modern-day nomad.

Based on Jessica Bruder’s 2017 novel, the project will screen at the Venice and Toronto festivals as part of their solidarity pact in the wake of the pandemic.

Zhao serves as editor, co-producer, screenwriter on the film which opens in regular release on December 4th.
