Netflix has released an early teaser for the Jake Gyllenhaal-led and Antoine Fuqua-directed remake of Gustav Moller’s 2018 “Phone Booth”-esque single location ticking clock thriller “The Guilty”.
The story unfolds in the early hours of the morning in a 911 dispatch call center. Joe Bayler (Gyllenhaal), a cop demoted to the desk position awaiting a disciplinary hearing the next day, receives a terrifying phone call from a kidnapped woman. He must battle his internal demons in order to save her.
“True Detective” creator Nic Pizzolatto penned the new take which will premiere in Toronto next month ahead of a limited theatrical run on September 24th and a Netflix premiere on October 1st.
