“South Park” Pandemic Special Rates Big

“South Park” returned with an hourlong pandemic special on Wednesday night and pulled in its best ratings in years.

The special drew 2.3 million total viewers on Comedy Central and a 2.1 rating in the key 18-49 demographic, the highest-rated episode of the show since 2013 and a 168% leap from last season’s average rating.

Last night’s episode centered around Randy coming to terms with his role in the COVID-19 outbreak as the on-going pandemic presented plenty of challenges to the citizens of South Park.

The special was also simulcast across ViacomCBS sister brands including MTV, VH1, CMT, Paramount Network, TV Land, Pop TV – those all adding 2.2 million viewers combined to the total of just over 4 million.
