Filmmaker Kari Skogland, who directed Marvel Studios’ “The Falcon and the Winter Soldier” event series, has taken the helm of the Gal Gadot-led “Cleopatra” film at Paramount Pictures.
Skogland steps in for Patty Jenkins who was attached to direct but is now pivoting to a producing role as she shifts her focus to her “Wonder Woman 3” and “Star Wars: Rogue Squadron” commitments.
Laeta Kalogridis penned the script while Charles Roven, Jenkins, Gadot and Jaron Varsano produce.
The film will explore the life of the famed Ancient Egyptian ruler who had a complicated relationship with Rome as she became the lover of Caesar and later Marc Antony.
