Filmmaker Matthew Vaughn is plotting “something like seven more Kingsman films” according to MARV Group CEO Zygi Kamasa this week.
Kamasa previously served as CEO of Lionsgate Europe before being hired in the Fall to run hired to run Vaughn’s MARV production banner. He handles the commercial operations freeing Vaughn up to work on filmmaking and expanding the company’s portfolio from from 1-2 movies a year to multiple movies and TV series.
Now, discussing said expansion plans at the Winston Baker UK Finance Summit late last week, Kamasa says (via Deadline:
“We want to grow the business and the output. We have a Kingsman TV series in the works and there are two-three other franchises that are being developed alongside the Kingsman world.”
Two films in the series have been released so far starring Taron Egerton and Colin Firth. A prequel spin-off titled “The King’s Man” was due out earlier this year but has been delayed to February 2021 due to the pandemic.
Egerton is expected back for at least one more “Kingsman” film while he’s also about to start shooting a film about the genesis of “Tetris” for MARV and Apple – a first photo of him in costume can be seen below. MARV is also working on soccer-themed series “Day 1”.
