More names have signed up to join Christopher Nolan’s “Oppenheimer” biopic at Universal Pictures.
Based on the Pulitzer Prize-winning novel “American Prometheus,” Cillian Murphy stars as the theoretical physicist whose work on the Manhattan Project led to the invention of the atomic bomb.
As already announced, the cast includes Murphy, Emily Blunt, Florence Pugh, Robert Downey Jr., Matt Damon, Rami Malek, Benny Safdie, Josh Hartnett, Dane DeHaan, Jack Quaid, Matthew Modine, Dylan Arnold, David Krumholtz, Alden Ehrenreich, Michael Angarano, David Dastmalchian, Jason Clarke, Olli Haaskivi, James D’Arcy and Kenneth Branagh.
Joining them now are Matthias Schweighofer, Josh Peck, Harrison Gilbertson, Emily Dumont, Guy Burnet and Danny Deferrari. As per usual, specifics of the roles are under wraps.
Nolan is directing from his own script and the project is filming from this month in New Mexico ahead of a July 2023 release.
