Production has officially begun in Ireland on “The Lighthouse” and “The Witch” director Robert Eggers’ forthcoming Viking revenge film “The Northman”.
Previously slated to start in March but delayed due to the ongoing pandemic, the film has also now confirmed a nearly year old casting rumor – that Icelandic singer-songwriter Björk has joined the cast as a character called ‘The Slav Witch’.
The project is described as Viking revenge film which will be set in Iceland at the turn of the 10th Century. Nicole Kidman, Alexander Skarsgard, Bill Skarsgard, Claes Bang, Kate Dickie, and the stars of his two previous films – Willem Dafoe and Anya Taylor-Joy.
Eggers will direct from a script he co-wrote with Icelandic novelist Sjon.
