“Riverdale” Star’s Sting Work Becomes Series

Actress Marisol Nichols began working in the late 1990s and hasn’t really stopped since with roles in films ranging from “Scream 2” to “Can’t Hardly Wait,” “Bowfinger,” “Big Momma’s House 2” and the upcoming “Spiral”.

She’s probably better known for her work on TV though with regular roles in “24,” “The Gates,” “GCB,” “Teen Wolf” and countless guest appearances. For the last few years she’s played Veronica’s mother Hermione Lodge on The CW’s “Riverdale”.

In May as part of an extensive Marie Claire feature piece, she revealed that for the past six years she had been moonlighting as an undercover agent in the fight against sex trafficking and child predators.

Working with undercover with agents from the FBI, Operation Underground Railroad and local law enforcement, she served as bait for sting operations both domestically and internationally.

Now that story is being turned into a television series after Sony Pictures Television optioned the rights to the article. The project is in the early stages of development and Nichols will executive produce and likely star in the story.
