Electronic Arts and Lucasfilm Games have officially confirmed that a sequel to 2019 single-player video game hit “Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order” is in the works.
Though reports over the past year have hinted at a follow-up being in development, this marks the first official acknowledgement of one.
The original’s game director Stig Asmussen and his team are returning to make the sequel for Respawn Entertainment as part of three new “Star Wars” games announced by EA-owned Respawn.
The other two include a first-person shooter from game director Peter Hirschmann, and a strategy game developed by newly formed studio Bit Reactor.
They join other “Star Wars” games in the works outside of EA including an open-world title from Ubisoft, a remake of “Knights of the Old Republic” for PS5 and PC, and Quantic Dreams’ “Star Wars Eclipse” cinematic game title set during the High Republic era.
