Prisoners of the Ghostland
RLJE Films has acquired the U.S. rights to the Nicolas Cage and Sofia Boutella-led mashup of western, samurai, and post-apocalyptic thriller “Prisoners of the Ghostland” ahead of its Sundance world premiere.

Cage plays a ruthless bank robber, sprung from jail by a wealthy warlord (Bill Moseley) to find his missing adopted granddaughter (Boutella). The robber is also strapped into a leather suit that will self-destruct within five days. [Source: Variety]

There Is No I in Threesome
WarnerMedia has acquired Jan Oliver Lucks’ New Zealand-made documentary “There Is No I in Threesome” and will air it as an HBO Max Original from February 11th.

The story follows a loving and newly engaged couple maintaining a long-distance relationship. Sexually explorative, they choose to open up their relationship before getting married. As lines blur, the pair are forced to face the implications of their decision. [Source: Variety]

Outlawed
Six-time Oscar nominee Amy Adams will executive produce the feminist western TV series “Outlawed” for Bond Group Entertainment and A24. No writer is yet attached to adapt.

Based on Anna North’s best-selling debut novel, the story centers on a young midwife who’s initiated into the notorious Hole in the Wall gang and becomes part of their mission to transform the West. [Source: The Live Feed]

It’s A Sin
HBO Max has unveiled the trailer for “Doctor Who,” “Queer as Folk” and “Years and Years” writer/producer Russell T. Davies’ new limited series “It’s A Sin” which has been a major success in the UK.

Set in 1981, the series follows a group of young LGBT people moving to London to led a new life, only to walk straight into the rise of HIV/AIDS in the United Kingdom. The five-episode series spans the decade which sees lives change, all five launch in the U.S. on HBO Max on February 18th.
