Criterion has announced their October release titles which will include their first A24 movie and first Safdie Brothers film – “Uncut Gems” starring Adam Sandler. Universal Pictures has set a November 18th 2022 release date for “She Said,” the dramatic retelling of the sexual harassment investigation that took down Harvey Weinstein and sparked the #MeToo movement. Carey Mulligan and Zoe Kazan co-star as the two New York Times reporters who broke the story. Production is set to begin this summer. [Source: Variety]
Kindred
“Zola” helmer Janicza Bravo will direct the pilot for the pilot of the FX drama series “Kindred” based on Octavia E. Butler’s classic sci-fi novel. Newcomer Mallori Johnson will play the lead role of Dana, a young aspiring Los Angeles writer who finds herself pulled back and forth in time. [Source: THR]
Rebel
IMDb TV has landed free streaming rights to the Erin Brockovich-inspired first season of the short-lived ABC drama “Rebel” and has begun streaming the service. Should the Katey Sagal-starrer perform well, the platform could greenlight a second season. [Source: THR]
iCarly
Paramount+ has renewed its revival of the Miranda Cosgrove-led Nickelodeon hit “iCarly” for a second season following its premiere in June. The thirteen-episode initial run is still unfolding weekly on Thursdays for another six weeks. The second season will begin filming in Los Angeles in the Fall for airing next year. [Source: THR]
