PSV duo Armando Obispo and Jordan Teze have praised Cody Gakpo, who has been linked with Liverpool and Man City.

It was first reported in January that the two Premier League clubs are interested in Gakpo.

The 22-year-old has already made his debut for the Netherlands and he has played over 100 times for PSV.

Five January transfer decisions that already look like mistakes

Gakpo has been in superb form for PSV this term. He has provided 13 goals and 13 assists from his 33 appearances across all competitions.

He is predominantly a left-winger and he has been key as PSV are challenging Ajax for the Eredivisie title this season.

Obispo has suggested that Gakpo’s progression has come as no surprise to him:

“Of course, that makes us very proud,” Obispo said (via Sport Witness).

“To be honest, I did expect that he would become so good, but not that his development would go so fast that he could already show it at the Dutch national team. But we are on the pitch with him every day; we know what Cody can do.”

“Cody is having a good season, and we still have some way to go,” added Teze.

“There are good things coming for him. It’s great that his name is being linked with big clubs like Manchester City and Liverpool. That’s an example of how we want it in the end.”

Elsewhere, Jurgen Klopp thinks Liverpool are currently miles off achieving a Quadruple and won’t be thinking about it any time soon:

“No team in the history of English football has won the quadruple, right? That is because it is incredibly difficult,” said Klopp.

“We’re still behind Manchester City (in the Premier League). We are not close to thinking about any crazy stuff like that.

“We are close to nothing at the moment. It is better people think we can do good things than we are useless but it is not important or helpful.

“We face a lot of good teams between now and the end of May. We just want to think about Norwich (in the FA Cup on Wednesday).”
