‘Please stop!’: Good Morning Britain enrages viewers with Christmas countdown and festive music

Sorry, this video isn’t available any more.

Good Morning Britain viewers were left raging after presenters Ben Shephard and Charlotte Hawkins kicked off today’s programme with talk of the big C, Christmas.

The hosts began by revealing that just 112 days stand in the way before December 25th, before blasting out the festive bop Merry Christmas Everyone by Shakin’ Stevens.

‘We’re starting to think about winter, we’re starting to think, more importantly, about Christmas,’ Ben said.

‘Mince pies are starting to be sold in supermarkets.’

‘I don’t want to scare you, but it’s 112 days until Christmas,’ Charlotte revealed.

Ben and Charlotte, along with newsreader Sean Fletcher, then proceeded to put on Santa hats as they threw themselves into the Christmas spirit.

‘Who can blame anyone for wanting to put the tree up now with the year that we’ve all had,’ showbiz reporter Richard Arnold added.

‘We’re hurtling towards Christmas on a bobsleigh.’

But not everyone was loving the festive chat…

Half 6, 4thsep and GMB are talking about Xmas and playing Xmas songs! For the love of god 🙄

Furious by the scenes at hand, audiences begged for the presenters to stop as they desperately clinged onto summer.

‘Now @GMB are at it, it was summer 3 days ago now they’re on about #christmas to please stop,’ demanded one.

Echoing a similar sentiment, another blasted: ‘As if they are on about xmas on gmb……. seriously shoot me now please, cheers x.’

Looks like we’re gonna have to soon face the facts that winter is well and truly on its way.

Good Morning Britain airs weekdays at 6am on ITV.
