The first photo of Hayden Christensen as Darth Vader in the upcoming “Obi-Wan Kenobi” series has been released.
EW spoke with several people involved in the newest “Star Wars” series, including Christensen himself who promises “we’re going to see a very powerful Vader” in this. Writer Joby Harold says Vader will be “very much a part of the show emotionally for Obi-Wan, and possibly beyond that as well.”
Whilst the series was designed as a limited series, talk of a second season appears to have begun. First up, director Deborah Chow tells the outlet the upcoming six-episode run was “definitely conceived” as “one full story” with a distinct beginning, middle and end.
However, Lucasfilm’s Kathleen Kennedy admits that discussions of another run have been happening because it seems the production of this first run went so swimmingly:
“It’s certainly something we talk about, mainly because everybody came together and had such an incredible time. Ewan had an incredible time. Hayden had an incredible time. So certainly from that point of view, everybody involved would love to see this not end. But we have to really spend our time asking the question: Why would we do it? If we were to decide to do anything more with the Obi-Wan character, we’d have to really answer the question why?”
“Obi-Wan Kenobi” debuts on the Disney+ service on May 25th.
