Netflix US February 2021: Best new shows and films including To All The Boys 3 and Malcolm and Marie

Netflix US is providing a whole host of content to help users stay entertained as we enter February.

Valentine’s Day is sure to be a treat with the final film in the To All The Boys trilogy making its way to the platform, as well as Zendaya’s new movie project Malcolm and Marie.

Elsewhere, true crime fans will be gripped by four part series, Crime Scene: The Vanishing at the Cecil Hotel.

Here’s a rundown of the best new releases coming to the streaming service in February.

Tiffany Haddish presents: They Ready: Season 2 (February 2)

Comedian Tiffany Haddish highlights six of her favorite comedians once more in the latest installment of her comedy special series.

Tiffany herlself explained in the trailer: ‘This season I purposely made sure everybody was black. Because I’m black.’

Prepare to enjoy lots of laughs thanks to Dean Edwards (Saturday Night Live), Kimberly Clark (Last Comic Standing), Tony Woods (Comedy Central Presents), Barbara Carlyle (Def Jam Comedy 25), Godfrey (Our Cartoon President), and Erin Jackson (Late Night with Seth Myers).

Firefly Lane (February 3)

Grey’s Anatomy alum Katherine Heigl stars in the series about an endearing female friendship based on the popular series of novels by Kristin Hannah.

As a teenager, introvert Kate Mularkey (Sarah Chalke) was shocked when the coolest girl in school, Tully Hart, moved in across the street and they became friends.

Growing Tully (Heigl), never got over her mother leaving the family home and uses men and then a high-stakes career to sustain her need for approval. Meanwhile, Kate only ever wanted a family but soon finds that she envies the jet-setting lifestyle that Tully leads.

Together they experience the highs and lows of life, from Tully’s unexpected fame as a reporter, to Kate’s experience of motherhood  (and occasionally crippling jealousy over her glamorous best friend) until tragedy strikes in the present day.

Malcolm & Marie (February 5)

Zendaya and John David Washington star as the titular characters as we delve into the lives of a filmmaker and his girlfriend when they return home from his movie premiere.

Malcolm is on a high as he awaits what’s sure to be a critical and financial success, however, the evening suddenly takes a turn within minutes.

It doesn’t take an expert to see that Marie is not happy about something, and so begins one of the most dreaded conversations in any relationship – the purge.

Written and directed by Euphoria creator Sam Levinson, the film was filmed during the height of lockdown last year.

To All The Boys: Always and Forever (February 12)

To All The Boys: Always and Forever follows Lara Jean (played by Lana Condor) and Peter (Noah Centineo) as they plan for their future together, with both hoping to get into Stanford university and do college as a couple.

Naturally, the course of true love never runs smoothly and if the trailer is anything to go by, the pair are in for some major hiccups: mainly Lara Jean getting a taste for New York and reconsidering following her boyfriend to Stanford.

We can’t believe it’s the final film in the trilogy as we say goodbye to Adler High’s power couple.

Crime Scene: The Vanishing at the Cecil Hotel (February 10)

The new four-part documentary season takes a look at the mysteries of Cecil Hotel in Downtown Los Angeles, which has been the setting for a series of macabre events over the years.

Dubbed ‘Hotel Death’, the location is described in the clip as a place where serial killers ‘let their hair down’, and one which is known to many as LA’s deadliest hotel.

The most chilling event inside the hotel came in 2013, when college student Elisa Lam vanished during her stay.

The case became one of the most-discussed on the internet, and now it’s being examined in more detail.
