NBC’s medical drama “New Amsterdam” has set an end date.
The show follows Dr. Max Goodwin as he becomes the medical director of one of the United States’ oldest public hospitals, aiming to reform the neglected facility by tearing up its bureaucracy to provide care to patients.
The series, currently in the midst of airing its standard 22-episode fourth season, will come to an end with a shortened 13-episode fifth season.
Ryan Eggold, Janet Montgomery, Freema Agyeman, Jocko Sims and Tyler Labine star in the series which airs on NBC Tuesdays and will wrap its current season on May 24th.
David Schulner created the series which previously scored a major three-season renewal in 2020.
