RB Leipzig boss Julian Nagelsmann has responded to rumours that Timo Werner could speed up his move to Chelsea before the Champions League has been finished.
Reports have indicated that Chelsea will complete a £53m move for Werner – complete with £180,000-a-week contract – after Liverpool decided against spending that amount of money in a pandemic.
The German striker scored once in the Champions League last-16 tie as the Bundesliga side beat Tottenham 4-0 on aggregate but now widespread reports – originating in Germany – claim that he will miss that campaign to join his new club next month.

However, Nagelsmann says that Werner is firmly in his plans as he attempts to go further in the Champions League.
When asked about the speculation, Nagelsmann said (via The Metro): “He is currently, as usual, in my plans to play the Champions League. He is our player and has not signed for anyone else.
“His importance to RB Leipzig is extraordinary. He has an incredibly good goalscoring rate, which you always hope for from a striker.’
“Both parties will sit down and see what happens next. There are no regulations at the moment.”
