“IT” director Andy Muschietti and producer Barbara Muschietti are teaming with “The Big Sick” duo of Emily V. Gordon and Kumail Nanjiani on an adaptation of the Edward Gorey’s 1957 book “The Doubtful Guest” for Amblin Partners.
The short, fourteen-page story tells of a penguin-like creature whose unannounced and unwelcome arrival at a family’s manor brings trouble and chaos.
Andy Muschietti is attached to direct with Nanjiani attached to star. Nanjiani and Gordon will write the script while both Muschiettis will produce along with Dani Bernfeld.
Andy Muschietti is currently shooting “The Flash” in London.
