Annie Mumolo (“Barb and Star Go to Vista Del Mar”), John Slattery (“Mad Men”), Lorenza Izzo (“Hacks”) and Ayden Mayeri (“Veep”) are set to join Jon Hamm in Greg Mottola’s new film “Confess, Fletch” at Miramax.
The new film is expected to more closely follow the plot of Gregory McDonald’s classic series of mystery novels that inspired the looser Chevy Chase “Fletch” comedies of the 1980s.
Hamm stars as the beloved investigative journalist who is declared the prime suspect in a murder investigation in this new film. He must work to prove his innocence while he searches for his fiancee’s stolen art collection – the only inheritance she’s received from her missing father.
Marcia Gay Harden, Kyle MacLachlan and Roy Wood Jr. co-star. Mottola is directing from a script he co-wrote with Zev Borow. Filming is now underway in Massachusetts.
