“Metal Gear Solid” Remake & Remasters Incoming?

In the wake of the success of the “Resident Evil” 2 & 3 remakes, it seems Sony and Konami are taking a hint and are remastering a classic franchise – no, not “Silent Hill”.

Rather YouTube channel RedGamingTech, a site that usually specialises in gaming hardware but is said to be quite reliable with scoops, is reporting today that the original “Metal Gear Solid” will get a full on remake (not just a remaster or port) as an exclusive for the PlayStation 5 and the PC.

Not only that, their source claims that the second, third and fourth games will be getting more straightforward HD remasters – most likely using the PS3’s compilation title “Metal Gear Solid HD Edition” which hit in 2011 and contained the second and third games. Those will likely be done for PC and PS5.

Numerous attempts by fans to completely remake “Metal Gear Solid” in Unreal Engine 4 have gone on for years with some incredible efforts shown to date. Neither Konami or Sony have commented on any of this, so take it as a rumor for now.
