Mattel Plans “UNO” Hip Hop Heist Film

Mattel Films has put into development a feature adaptation of the UNO card game, this one a live-action heist comedy that unfolds against Atlanta’s underground hip hop scene.

Grammy-nominated rapper Lil Yachty is eyeing a starring role in the project and Marcy Kelly is penning the script. Lil Yachty, Kevin ‘Coach K’ Lee, Pierre ‘P’ Thomas and Brian Sher will produce.

UNO has its 50th anniversary this year, the game is played in more than 80 countries. This film joins numerous other Mattel projects with film adaptation on the way including “Barbie,” “He-Man and the Masters of the Universe,” “Major Matt Mason,” “Hot Wheels,” “Thomas and Friends,” “ViewMaster,” “Wishbone” and “Magic 8 Ball”.
