The ‘Awesome Mix’ soundtracks of yesteryear hits are a big part of the identity of Marvel Studios’ “Guardians of the Galaxy” films.

Now the upcoming video game based on the comics property is also making it a big part of its make-up as well. Developer Eidos Montreal has posted a new YouTube video going into the music that will be found in the game.

Senior audio director Steve Szczepkowski says the process involves both a cinematic orchestral score provided by composer Richard Jacques, and a group of 1980s pop and rock hits.

According to a press release from Square Enix, tracks include music from Iron Maiden, KISS, New Kids On The Block, Rick Astley, Hot Chocolate, and plenty more to be revealed.

One feature is ‘The Huddle’ which allows players to choose a track from Peter Quill’s cassette player before a fight in order to inspire the team while they battle enemies.

“Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy” is set to launch on October 26th on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, and PC.
