Nearly two months ago came a report that Chris Evans was going to reprise his role as Steve Rogers, aka Captain America, in future Marvel Studios projects.
Evans denied the report at the time, but did so with the phrase “news to me” – a way that leaves it open to interpretation according to some fans.
This week, Marvel Studios chief Kevin Feige denied those rumors that Evans is returning. He tells EW:
“I rarely answer no to anything anymore because things are always surprising me with what happens, but that rumor, I think, was dispelled rather quickly by the man himself.”
Talk of Evans potentially returning is rising ahead of the premiere of “The Falcon and the Winter Soldier” series this Friday and filming currently underway on Sam Raimi’s “Doctor Strange and the Multiverse of Madness”.
Both are outlets that could allow for a potential cameo or supporting role appearance by Evans, but the show’s stars Anthony Mackie and Sebastian Stan both tell the outlet they don’t know anything about it, Stan saying: “I truly don’t have any intel on that.”
