Netflix has announced the main cast for their live-action series adaptation of Capcom’s popular video game franchise “Resident Evil”.
The biggest news is that “John Wick” and “Bosch” alum Lance Reddick has signed on to portray the villainous head of Umbrella Corporation, Albert Wesker.
In addition, Ella Balinska (“Charlie’s Angels”), Adeline Rudolph (“Chilling Adventures of Sabrina”), Tamara Smart (“A Babysitter’s Guide to Monster Hunting”), Siena Agudong (“No Good Nick”), and Paola NuNez (“Bad Boys for Life”) have all scored unspecified roles in the feature.
The eight-episode hour-long series hails from “Supernatural” executive producer Andrew Dabb, who will be serving as a writer, executive producer, and showrunner.
The series will also be written and executive produced by Mary Leah Sutton, with Constantin Film’s Robert Kulzer and Oliver Berben set as executive producers. Constantin Film, the studio behind the blockbuster film franchise, will be the project’s studio with CEO Martin Moszkowicz also producing.
The story follows two timelines – one involving a couple of fourteen-year-old sisters who have just moved to New Raccoon City. The other following one of the girls now in her thirties in a time where the T-virus has infected plenty of people and animals.
