Little Mix have revealed they have found some ‘incredible groups’ as part of their upcoming talent show The Search, managing to get most of it filmed before lockdown.
The band have turned mentors to the next generation of artists after launching their own hunt for a band that will get the chance to support them on tour.
The girls began filming before the coronavirus pandemic, and say they are grateful to have got most of the show done before the world shut down for several months.
Jade Thirlwall told Metro.co.uk: ‘The Search is all ready to go and we’re so excited for the world to see it.
‘We’ve worked very hard on it and we finished the whole audition process just before lockdown thankfully.’
Given that they themselves were formed in a similar process, the band are excited to get the chance to find some talented artists and offer them their big break.

Jade continued: ‘We’ve got some incredible groups that we’ve put together and it’s something we’ve never done before so I think people are going to see Little Mix in a whole new light, see us mentoring people.
‘I think what’s so exciting for us about the show is how authentic it is and you can really get to see how we work together.
‘We found some insanely talented people and hopefully we can use our platform and the show’s platform to give them an amazing career off the back of it.’
While the majority of the audition stages were completed before lockdown, the band are planning to have live shows for the finals – the logistics of which are still being discussed ahead of the show airing this Autumn.
Perrie Edwards explained: ‘The live shows – we’re working on it in this weird time. We’re just so glad that we managed to get so much filmed and so much edited and ready to go before this happened.
‘It’s a weird one right now. I’m kind of glad that the beginning of the year was jam packed with stuff! The break was bittersweet – it was actually really nice to have a break – we’ve never had that much time off ever, and we’ve been together 10 years next year.
‘So it was much-needed but at the same time it was just such a weird time that it wasn’t appreciated – it wasn’t seen as time off! We also missed each other too much!’
Little Mix – which also comprises of Jesy Nelson and Leigh-Anne Pinnock – have been teasing trailers for their new show, revealing some of the acts that have auditioned for them so far.
The winning group will get the chance to support Little Mix on tour – a life-changing experience that will give them a stepping stone into the industry.
Little Mix: The Search airs this Autumn on BBC One.
