Looking ahead! Lindsey Vonn and her fiancé, P.K. Subban, are taking their family plans “day by day.”
“We definitely want a family in the future,” the Olympic skier, 35, recently told Us Weekly exclusively while promoting her Project Rock partnership. “So we’re just trying to get through the moment then we’ll figure out the future when it comes.”
She and the professional ice hockey player, 31, got engaged in August 2019. Four months later, the Minnesota native proposed to Subban. “Merry Christmas and happy holidays to everyone,” Vonn wrote via Instagram in December 2019. “On our 2 year anniversary I returned the favor and asked PK to marry me … and he said yes.”
The Strong Is the New Beautiful author explained her unconventional decision at the time, writing, “We talk about equality but actions speak louder than words. Men should get engagement rings too and this is what PK deserves. Can’t wait to marry you babe.”
The former alpine skier was previously married to fellow U.S. ski team member Thomas Vonn. The former couple wed in 2007 and called it quits four years later. Lindsey went on to date Tiger Woods for two years until their 2015 split. She and Subban were first linked in 2018.
The Rise: My Story author feels “very lucky” to have an “amazing” partner like the Canadian athlete, she exclusively gushed to Us in October 2019. “I have depression and he always finds a way to brighten my day,” she added at the time. “No matter what it is, whether it’s just making me laugh and smile, or bringing me flowers or doing something stupid which always gets me to laugh anyways.”
The pair have been quarantining together amid the coronavirus pandemic — and Lindsey has also been hard at work as Project Rock’s Global Ambassador.
She had an “amazing” time working with Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson ahead of Project Rock’s release of its Project Rock 3 Training Shoe for men, women and youth.
“He’s such a great person, and his work ethic is incredible,” Lindsey told Us. “I just feel lucky to be able to work with someone like that. Project Rock has been more than just an athletic line, inspiring people to look forward every day. … Working with him, and putting that message out there, has been one of the biggest highlights for me in my career.”
