Apple TV+ has handed out a limited series order for “WeCrashed” with Oscar winners Jared Leto and Anne Hathaway attached to star. Lee Eisenberg and Drew Crevello created the series.
The project is based on the hit podcast and follows the greed-filled rise and inevitable fall of WeWork, one of the world’s most valuable startups – along with the narcissists whose chaotic love made it all possible.
It marks the second project Leto has been announced for in the past 24 hours. The other is “Adrift,” the new film that has Darren Aronofsky attached to direct and Jason Blum producing.
Set in the dead calm of the open sea, a fishing boat discovers an abandoned yacht with a strange distress call. A deckhand agrees to take lone control of it while it’s towed into port, but soon he discovers why his more experienced crew members call it a ‘ghost ship’.
The film is based on a short story by “The Ring” writer Koji Suzuki with Aronofsky and Luke Dawson adapting the script. Aronofsky will be shooting “The Whale” with Brendan Fraser in March.
